USBP: Convicted felon arrested in Calexico

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Border Patrol agents arrested a convicted felon who previously served time in prison for manslaughter.

U.S. Border Patrol said the man was arrested after illegally crossing the border near Calexico. He was previously apprehended in October 2020 after illegally entering with a group of migrants near Calexico Port of Entry.

Agents say record checks revealed Jorge Moreno-Hernandez served 13 years in Los Angeles for voluntary manslaughter.

A judge removed Moreno-Hernandez in August 2020. Agents say he will serve 13 months and one day in federal custody with two years of supervised release.
