AZ529 provides scholarship opportunity to 5th graders
Contest awards $529 voucher, 20 winners to be chosen
YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Office of the Arizona State Treasurer is currently accepting submissions for the AZ529 Essay Writing Contest till 11:59 p.m. Saturday, May 29.
Hosted by Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee, the contest asks students to answer the dual question, "What is your dream job, and how do you plan on achieving it in the future?"
All current 5th grade students in Arizona (including public, district/charter, private and home-school) are welcome to participate. 20 vouchers in the amount of $529 each will be awarded towards an AZ529 Education Savings Plan.

The state has allotted each of Arizona’s 15 counties a voucher, with an additional five to be awarded between Maricopa and Pima Counties. Cumulatively, more than $10,500 will be provided to assist students in saving for their educational plans beyond high school.
