YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-Local business owners share tricks and tips from their industry to sanitize and disinfect your home!
It is not just about pulling out that can of Lysol or washing your hands.

Local business owners are going above and beyond to make sure you know how to fight the spread of the coronavirus.

Melody Dunn with Lapel’s Dry Cleaning explained keeping your clothes clean is key.

“This virus can live up to a day on your clothes if you come into contact with it and it can also live even longer on other surfaces like copper or plastics or metal object. So the zipper on your dress or the buttons on your jacket," explained Dunn. “Do wash your items with the hottest available setting on your washer with detergent.”

Something you might not think about - disinfecting you’re laundry hampers and wear disposable gloves while doing your laundry.

And Quick Refrigeration said keeping your HVAC unit clean and tuned up could keep the virus away.

"There’s moisture within that unit, moisture, and dirt, and dust is a breeding ground for bad and all other sorts of things you don’t want to be breathing," said Jimmy Gilmore, Quick Refrigeration.

Another way to keep your air clean is with indoor coil sanitation which has the power to clean viruses and germs.

As for restaurants like Prison Hill Brewery, they are going the extra mile to keep their business clean.

"We are constantly sanitizing our server books that you get your credit card receipts in. We are asking for automatic payments over the phone, actually as much as possible so there isn’t any interaction or transmission from hand to hand,” explained Chris Wheeler, owner of Prison Hill Brewery.
