SANTA CLARA COUNTY (KYMA, KECY) - The CDC confirms a second case of the novel coronavirus in the county of Santa Clara, California.

This brings the total number of U.S. cases to 9, and is the 4th confirmed case in California.

The patient is an adult female who had recently traveled to Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the virus.

She returned on January 23, and says she has stayed home ever since, except to seek medical care.

She is currently being monitored and health officials say she is not sick enough to be hospitalized.

The County of Santa Clara says there is no immediate threat to the general public.

Officials say this second Santa Clara case is not related to the first which was reported last week.
