BOSTON, Mass. (KYMA, KECY) - A man in his 20s returning to Boston from Wuhan, China has tested positive for the coroniavirus.
Heath officials say he sought medical attention upon his return.
His is the eighth confirmed case of the new coronavirus in the United States.
The Boston Herald reports the man has been isolated, and his close contacts have been identified and are being monitored.
This new case comes as China's death toll reaches 259, and the World Health Organization advises governments need to prepare for "domestic outbreak control" if disease spreads in their countries.
So far, there are three confirmed cases in California, one in Arizona, two in Illinois, one in Washington state, and this latest case in Massachusetts.
The Arizona Department of Health services has released these precautions and best practices after announcing the case in Maricopa county.
