Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Wellton

WELLTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- A person dies after being hit by a car in Wellton Tuesday morning.

The Wellton Police Department said a 2004 Dodge Durango was traveling eastbound on the 28500 block of Los Angeles Avenue when an individual in dark clothing was crossing the street.

Police say the driver struck the individual but remained on scene.

The driver did not suffer injuries.

Wellton police say the pedestrian died at the scene.
