New terminal open at Hollywood Burbank Airport in California

BURBANK, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - A new terminal opened to travelers Tuesday at Hollywood Burbank Airport.

The nearly $1.3 billion terminal has been decades in the making. It replaces aging buildings that had opened in 1930.

The new terminal is on the opposite side of the airfield.

It will still have the same number of gates, 14, but it includes expanded security screening areas, more passenger amenities and a new parking structure.
