One person dead after a shooting at a funeral in Utah

KEARNS, UT. (NBC, KYMA) - One person is dead and two others were injured after a shooting at a funeral in Kearns, Utah on Monday.

Police were called to the scene around 11:25 Monday morning after people attending the funeral warned there could be a problem.

Officers were already at the scene when they heard gunfire outside the church.

They found one man with critical injuries he was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

A second victim was found in a vehicle after a group left the scene and was stopped by police in West Valley City.

That victim was critically injured and taken to a hospital.

Police also found a third victim with a gunshot wound, that person was also hospitalized in critical condition.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and gathering information from the victims.

Police say the shooting appears to be isolated. The investigation remains ongoing.
