Christiane Amanpour to leave CNN after 43 years

(CNN, KYMA) - Christiane Amanpour plans to leave CNN next year after more than four decades with the network.

In a statement Monday, the Chief International Anchor referred to CNN as her partner for "43 fantastic years," and said the decision came after months of consideration.

CNN Chairman Mark Thompson described her as "one of the most trusted and beloved journalists anywhere."

Amanpour will scale back her hosting duties before signing off next June.
