Fat Bear Week 2026 underway

(CBS, KYMA) - Fat Bear Week got underway Tuesday thanks to the folks at Katmai National Park in Alaska.

Chunk is defending his crown, healthy again after a broken jaw. It's estimated he weighed 1,200 pounds before last winter.

He's being challenged by 15 other brown bears, throwing their weight around, and they include Bucky, Gully, Backpack and Walker.
