Juror in Lindsay Clancy murder trial speaks out

NEW YORK (CBS, KYMA) - A juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial is speaking out about her experience on the case.

The highly publicized trial ended in a mistrial last week after the panel of nine women and three men were unable to reach a verdict.

Paula Devlin, who served on the jury, told CBS Mornings a black male juror in his 30s held out for a guilty verdict, while the others were in favor of finding Clancy not responsible for killing her three children back in 2023.

Devlin says they spent several days trying to convince the holdout to come to their side.

"Just the way that it happened, like the sequence of how it happened and then we watched the video of Lindsay's interview and after that he said he had realized that it wasn't murder in the first degree. That's where we saw his doubt," Devlin shared. "This wouldn't have happened if Lindsay didn't get lost in the system and failed by the system."

Defense attorney Kevin Reddington filed a motion Thursday asking for the judge throw out the mistrial and acquit Clancy.

He argues prosecutors failed to present enough evidence for a jury to find the Massachusetts mother criminally responsible beyond a reasonable doubt.
