Three missing tubers in Michigan emotional rescue caught on body camera

MUSKEGON RIVER, Mich. (NBC, KYMA) - Emotional moments captured on body camera when a Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Search and Rescue Team finds three missing tubers, including a nine-year-old boy.

They were found alive after a massive 72-hour search along Michigan's Muskegon River.

DNR officers and a Michigan State Police search dog team searching through miles of dense brush, finally hear what they'd been hoping for.

They call out numerous times "Make some noise and yell," and they get a response!

Jazmin Hock, Sarah Vida and Vida's nine-year-old son Kayden were found alive and safe.

The Michigan DNR searchers said they'd found a path in the grass near a log jam along the river, and found footprints that showed where the tubers had made their way over the logs and onto the riverbank and into the woods.

They then looked for places where ferns had been tipped over, grass bent, eventually discovering the missing trio, some six to seven miles from where they entered the river.

The three were dehydrated, covered in bug bites and bruises, but are expected to be okay.
