The Ohio State Fair opens

COLUMBUS, Ohio (NBC, KYMA) - The 2026 Ohio State Fair is officially open for business.

Wednesday morning's countdown and ribbon cutting signaled the official opening of the state fair in Columbus.

The fair runs through August 9, and includes a midway full of rides, various food vendors, hypnotists, and a petting zoo.

The fair has been running strong since the 1850s.

Bands performing include "Weird Al" Yankovic, The Gin Blossoms and Styx.

New attractions this year include a hand-carved, painted and custom-built carousel with all 88 Ohio County names included in the design.
