(NBC, KYMA) - Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been charged with a misdemeanor count of hit and run.

The Napa County, California Sheriff's Office says, on July third, Pelosi hit an unoccupied parked car, then left the scene.

Pelosi is charged with violating California Vehicle Code section 20002 (CVC 20002), a misdemeanor charge which requires drivers involved in collisions resulting in property damage to stop and provide the information required by law.

He is additionally charged with the infraction of making an unlawful turn.

Investigators say the 86-year-old admitted he hit something but didn't know what it was.
