Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $604 million after no winning ticket

(KYMA, CNN) - The Mega Millions jackpot is back above the half-billion-dollar mark after no ticket matched all six numbers in Tuesday night's drawing.

The jackpot has now grown to an estimated $604 million, with a cash option of about $266 million, according to lottery officials.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot remain extremely slim at roughly one in 290 million.

Lottery officials expect ticket sales to increase significantly as the jackpot continues to grow, with prizes topping half a billion dollars typically attracting more players hoping to win the life-changing payout.

The next drawing is Friday.
