Shooting at Michigan mall leaves two dead

DEARBORN, Mich. (NBC, KYMA) - Two people are dead after shooting at a mall in Dearborn, Michigan Friday.

Gunfire erupted at the mall around 1:25 p.m. Eastern, prompting multiple police vehicles to surround the mall.

According to police, three people were shot Friday afternoon at the Fairlane Town Center and police say the shooting was not random.

Upon arrival, officers discovered three gunshot victims in the mall and immediately started rendering aid to the those with gunshots wounds.

According to Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin, "It appears this was not a random act of violence, there were two parties who knew each other and a fight began that escalated to gunfire."

Police say a number of people involved in the shooting had weapons. It is not clear if a suspect has been taken into custody.
