Job hiring rates nearly 5% lower than a year ago, Workforce Report says

NEW YORK (CBS, KYMA) - Today's job market is full of uncertainty, leaving many job seekers feeling stuck.

LinkedIn's latest Workforce Report found hiring rates are nearly 5% lower than a year ago and nearly 20% lower than before the pandemic.

Career experts say the key to standing out is translating your daily duties into measurable accomplishments, and highlighting any leadership, mentorship or team management experience.

"To get that call back you're going to be wanting to be really strategic in terms of where you're applying based on your skills and experience. Focus on being the right fit," said Catherine Fisher, a career expert for LinkedIn. "That's your key and then you also want to lean into your network. It's really important that you are stepping into that network and asking for help."

Experts say job seekers should also be really selective about using AI when applying, and always rewrite your resume in your own voice.
