Man accused of stealing unreleased Beyoncé music pleads guilty

(NBC, KYMA) - The man accused of stealing unreleased Beyoncé music during her Atlanta tour stop has pleaded guilty.

Just hours ago, Kelvin Evans took a plea deal right before his trial was set to begin in Atlanta.

Prosecutors say Evans broke into a vehicle at the Krog Street parking garage last July, just days before Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" tour stop.

Investigators say he stole jump drives with unreleased music, along with show plans, laptops, and other items belonging to members of Beyoncé's team.

Prosecutors say they had video evidence, but offered a deal due to some uncertainty about a jury trial.

Evans pleaded guilty to entering an automobile. He was sentenced to five years, two in prison and three on probation, and he is not eligible for parole.
