Waitress attacked at a cafe in Australia

MELBOURNE, Australia (CBS, KYMA) - Shocking CCTV footage captured the moment a waitress at a Melbourne cafe was assaulted by a passerby Saturday.

Video released by Essendon cafe La Vallee shows one of its female staffers being attacked as she carried plates to an outside table, when a woman walking past slammed the plates into the waitresses face.

The worker, a young woman visiting from France, was left with a chipped tooth after the incident.

"We are beyond shocked at the abhorrent behavior of this grown woman," the cafe wrote on Instagram. "If you know her please send us a private message - the we need assistance in identifying this individual. This incident led to one of our beautiful staff members CHIPPING THEIR TOOTH from the plate she pushed into her face."

According to news reports, Victoria Police were investigating the attack.
