Crews throughout Georgia battle wildfire

BRANTLEY COUNTY, Ga. (CBS, KYMA) - A wildfire burning in southern Georgia kept firefighting crews busy over the weekend, burning more than 22,000 acres as of Monday, fire officials said.

Footage released by White County Public Safety shows crews assisting with wildfire response Sunday.

The agency said it deployed a team from the northern part of Georgia to Brantley County to support ongoing efforts.

As of Monday morning, the Highway 82 fire was an estimated 22,615 acres in size and was 6% contained, according to officials.

Rainfall Sunday night did not put the fire out, officials said, but it did allow firefighters to rest.
