United Airlines pilots reach labor deal, will receive 40% pay raise

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - Pilots with United Airlines have reached a tentative agreement with the airline on a new four year contract.

The new deal will give pilots a substantial pay raise, up to 40%.

The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) says the agreement also includes better retirement benefits, job security, and addresses quality of life issues.

The union says the agreement ends a stalemate that has lasted four years. However, its 16,000 members still must approve the deal.
