U.S. Dept. of HHS to increase access to Tamiflu

(NBC) - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Wednesday that they will make additional supplies of Tamiflu.

The additional supplies will be available to jurisdictions to respond to an increased demand for the antiviral during this flu season.

This is also including through the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS).

Jurisdictions will work with their administration for strategic preparedness.

They will also work with their administration for response teams to evaluate any requests for Tamiflu through the SNS.

Furthermore, this announcement is the latest in a set of actions that the Biden-Harris administration and HHS have taken.

This increase will reduce the burden on health care systems and keep Americans healthy this winter.
