United Airlines makes bank in deal with Boeing

(NBC) - United Airlines has announced a huge purchase from Boeing.

The carrier has agreed to buy 100 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with a option to buy 100 more.

Furthermore, the planes, with an expected delivery date in between 2024 and 2032, will replace older, less-efficient planes in United's fleet.

This includes their Boeing 767's and some of their 777's.

The Chicago-based airline's entire wide-body fleet now consists of Boeing planes.

As part of this deal, United is also buying 56 Boeing 737 max narrow-body planes.

In addition, United is also exercising options for 44 more.

Overall, this purchase order is a huge boost for Boeing from one of its largest customers.
