WI postal worker shot Friday, police respond

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. (NBC) - Authorities found a Wisconsin postal worker fatally shot and killed while delivering mail Friday.

Police responded to a residential area at around 6:00pm.

Upon arrival, they found a 44-year-old male victim with a gunshot would.

He later died at the scene.

While the police did not name the victim, they did confirm the postal worker had over 18 years of service.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown.

The Milwaukee Police Department is leading the investigation with the assistance of the United States postal Inspection Service as well as the FBI.

Police are seeking unknown suspects and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
