One person dead and two others injured in Birmingham shooting

BIRMINGHAM, Alab. (NBC) - One person died and two other injured during a shootout near a gas station in Birmingham Friday.

The shooting occurred just after 8:00pm when groups began shooting at each other in an intersection.

Furthermore, officials believe one of the shooters was firing from a nearby Chevron parking lot.

At the scene, officers found a vehicle that crashed into a tree.

A woman and man were inside the car, both with gunshot wounds.

Officials said a third man who was walking in the area suffered gunshot wounds.

The man in the vehicle died at the scene.

The other victims have non-life-threatening injuries.
