Bomb threats sent to Florida campuses

(KYMA, KECY/CBS) - Bomb threats were sent to students at several Historically Black Colleges in Florida and many were put into lockdown.

Police and bomb-sniffing dogs surveyed the Edward Waters University campus in Jacksonville, Florida on Tuesday Morning, one of many universities to receive a bomb threat within two days.

One student recounts hearing about the bomb threats by saying, "I'm just thinking, Wow, this is crazy. Like on the first day of Black History Month…"

Many classes were canceled and students had to stay in their dorms as the campus was investigated.

The Department of Homeland Security is working with several federal and local agencies to find out who was delivering the threats.
