NEW YORK, New York - Over the weekend, police union leader Ed Mullins creating more controversy by suggesting Majors was in the park to buy marijuana.
His comments were immediately condemned by Mayor Bill De Blasio and majors' parents who wrote in part, quote, "We would ask Mr. Mullins not to engage in such irresponsible public speculation, just as the N.Y.P.D. asked our family not to comment as it conducts the investigation."
The statement came just hours after almost a thousand people attended a vigil paying tribute to majors on the same spot where her body was found.
