San Luis, Mexico hosts 19th Annual International Migrant Poets Festival

SAN LUIS, Mexico (KYMA) - San Luis, Mexico is hosting the 19th edition of the International Migrant Poets Festival this week.

The event brings together more than 60 writers from different countries, in-person and virtually, using poetry to highlight the experiences of migrants.

The festival also features 28 writers participating in-person from Mexico, the United States, Peru and El Salvador.

"We will be organizing many literary activities. Tomorrow, Friday, we will carry out a street activity by going to the line of cars waiting to enter the United States, knocking on their windows, and giving away poems to promote reading," said Manuel Cuen, the festival's organizer.

The festival ends Friday.
