Body of missing San Luis, Mexico woman found

SAN LUIS, Mexico (KYMA) - The body of a San Luis, Mexico woman has been found after she was reported missing late last month.

The body of 25-year-old Wendy Estéfani Zepeda Alfaro was found in a remote area south of San Luis, Mexico ten days after she went missing.

Monica Espinoza was with her search group looking for Alfaro this past weekend before hearing the news.

"We went to that area Saturday, we searched but we didn't find her," Espinoza shared. "The body was found later in an abandoned house."

Espinoza was in communication with Alfaro's mother, who was very upset after learning her daughter's fate.

"It's logic that her mom is devastated especially because since the beginning she gave all the proofs and evidence and the investigators only gave her foolish answers," Espinoza expressed.

The Sonora District Attorney's Office posted to Facebook saying they do have a person of interest, and are trying to determine the exact crime committed.
