KYMA

SAN LUIS, Mexico (KYMA) - A fire in San Luis, Mexico claimed the lives of two people with disabilities.

The fire happened last Thursday. A 12-year-old boy and a 25-year-old woman lost their lives, and the house was destroyed by the fire.

The mother of both children lost everything as she is not only suffering their losses, but now, she's without a home.

Ana Chirino Solis, a friend of the family and witness to the fire, shared what she saw.

"Lupita, the children's mother, developed an infection in a wound she sustained in the fire. She kept fainting and regaining consciousness, and she was seeing doctors because she had lost two children. It's very difficult, and she's going to need help because it was a total loss for her," Solis described.

Family members, friends and concerned citizens have come together to request support for the mother.
