YCSO reveals the identity of victim in weekend house fire

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) has released the identity of the victim in Sunday's house fire incident.

YCSO identified the victim as 33-year-old Maria Guadalupe Aparicio of Yuma. They also said next of kin have been notified.

On Sunday, YCSO deputies arrived to the area of S. May Avenue and West Fourth Street. after receiving reports of a house fire. They then saw Aparicio's house engulfed in flames, with her still inside.

Once Rural Metro put out the fire, authorities found Aparicio's body and pronounced her dead.

The investigation remains ongoing, and Aparicio's family launched a GoFundMe.
