One person dead in house fire, YCSO investigates

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) responded to a house fire early Sunday morning.

In a press release, the incident occurred in the area of S. May Avenue and West Fourth Street at around 5:20am.

YCSO says when a deputy arrived, they found a home engulfed in flames, with one person still inside, and Rural Metro was on scene and put out the fire.

YCSO further said they found the person and was prounounced dead, but have yet to reveal the victim's name "pending next of kin notification."
