Family of Beer House fire victims asks for the community’s support

Antionio and Marissa Cisneros are currently hospitalized and recovering from the fire that killed 11 people

YUMA, Ariz. (KECY, KYMA) - The family of two local victims of the San Luis, Mexico bar fire are asking for the community’s support.

The lead singer of the band "Mitosis" and his wife are currently hospitalized after they were rescued from the Beer House bar early Saturday morning.

According to the 'GoFundMe' page, Antonio and Marissa Cisneros, both have severe lung damage after being found unconscious in the Beer House by firefighters.

Erika Escalante, Marissa's cousin, told us about her and Antonio's escape.

“The smoke was so intense she said they couldn’t see the front door, the heat was so intense they didn’t even want to start running that way. They went to a back room, and saw a window that they broke. It wasn’t big enough to get out of though and they called and asked for help," Escalante said.

Family members are hoping to raise $10,000 to help with their recovery.

Antonio is being treated in the ICU in Tucson, while Marissa is being treated at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
