Imperial Valley hosting transportation awareness meeting

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of El Centro is inviting all residents from the Valley to a community transportation awareness meeting Thursday evening.

The transportation commission will give residents valuable transportation information regarding routes, rates, and details that will help residents navigate the city.

The mayor of El Centro said this meeting is also to provide a space for residents to be able to ask questions or raise any concerns they might have regarding transportation.

"We are also taking a look at the type of services that are available at reduced cost for veterans, senior citizens or for medical services. So we just want to make sure that we are being very aware and transparent and educating our public on how to navigate public transportation," explained Mayor Martha Cardenas Singh, Mayor of El Centro.

The meeting will be held at the El Centro Community Center on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
