YCSO issues notifications on two Level 3 sex offenders
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) has issued two notifications to inform the Yuma community about two Level 3 sex offenders in the area.
YCSO said that 73-year-old Cutberto Rivera, Jr. informed them that he is residing in the 2770 block of W. 8th Street in Yuma. YCSO also said that Rivera is 5'7", 190 pounds, has white hair and brown eyes, and is not wanted by YCSO at this time.
According to YCSO, Rivera plead guilty in the Yuma County Superior Court, on July 7, 2015, to one count of attempted molestation of a child, and one count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor. The victim, an underage girl, knew Rivera. He was sentenced to ten years in the Arizona Department of Corrections "with 259 days credit for time served prior to sentencing."
After his release from prison, Rivera has been on intensive lifetime probation through the Yuma County Adult Probation. YCSO considers him a level 3 offender, meaning he has a risk to re-offend.
51-year-old Adrian Sandiego who sexually abused a minor almost three decades ago has a new address and is living near Avenue G and County 15th Street in Somerton.
YCSO said Sandiego is 5'8" with black hair and brown eyes.
Deputies said Sandiego pled guilty to one count of Sexual Conduct with a Minor in 1994.
He is not wanted by YCSO at this time and is considered a Lever 3 sex offender which means he's at a high risk to reoffend.
Furthermore, YCSO said that the notification is not meant to cause fear. Rather, YCSO believes that "an informed community is a safer community."
