WACOG receives thank you painting from client

WACOG says many programs are available for those who need assistance

YUMA, Ariz. (KECY, KYMA) - Workers at the Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) got a very special thank you from one of their clients.

It’s a painting of Yuma, with WACOG in the middle.

The painting includes everything that makes Yuma, Yuma. Including MCAS Yuma, the ag industry, dune buggies and more.

Case Coordinator Blanca Silva says the gesture was greatly appreciated.

“This is the first time we get a thank you painting, usually we get notes thank yous, or emails, but this was something different. It was really fantastic when she came in and gave it to us,” Silva said.

Gibby, the painter, needed assistance with rent as she was unable to work.

She was grateful to WACOG and Blanca for making the process easy.

“I’ve never been on the receiving end of assistance before, so it’s been a learning process for me and they helped me and guided me through other programs,” Gibby said.
