Sponsored by the Associated Students Government
IMPERIAL, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial Valley College (IVC) invites the community to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on campus Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
IVC Communications and Governmental Relations Officer Elizabeth Espinoza explains the event is sponsored by the Associated Students Government and will be held on the lawn area behind the Student Affairs office.
Attendees should expect free food, music and entertainment. Parking is also available at no cost.
"Entertainment will be Mariachi Mixteco followed by Live Lucha Libre from Venue Wrestling Entertainment," Espinoza shared. "Additionally, there will be a COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Current IVC students who obtain the vaccine during this clinic will receive a $50 gift card (sponsored by HEERF)."
Face masks are required.
"Imperial Valley College is proud to be recognized as one of the 569 institutions nationally to be designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI)," expressed IVC Superintendent/President Lennor Johnson. "An HSI has an enrollment of undergraduate full-time equivalent students that is at least 25 percent Hispanic students at the end of the award year immediately preceding the date of application."
