Young woman crashes into local shop market

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A 19-year-old woman was arrested and booked on both felony and misdemeanor charges for rear-ending another vehicle and crashing into a building.

Yuma police responded to the crash early Wednesday morning around 2:56 a.m. at the EZ Shop Market located in the area of South 4th Avenue and West 14th Street.

Yuma police said a 19-year-old woman driving southbound on South 4th Avenue in a 2013 Ford Mustang rear-ended a 2009 Ford Van and then collided with the EZ Shop Market.

The Ford Mustang then became engulfed in flames, the woman was the only one in the car and was able to escape without injury.

Yuma police said alcohol appears to be a factor and the case is still under investigation.
