House of Fades hold Yuma Barber Expo at the Quechan

WINTERHAVEN, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The House of Fades Barbershop hosted a barber expo late Saturday morning.

The event is to bring barbers together and network as well as learn new style techniques and equipment. In addition, the expo is for those interested in learning how to be a stylist or a barber.

The expo took place at 11:00am at the Quechan.

The host of the event, Joe Anthony, shares how this expo could help kids.

"It's important because I feel like it could help out a lot of kids, get them a steady job here in Yuma. It's kind of hard because there's a lot of seasonal and it could take kids off the street as well," Anthony explained.

During the expo, the owner of Nohemi's Threading Studio, Nohemi Munguia, demonstrated how to use thread to remove hair from your eyebrows and cheeks.

Then, the expo held a competition to see who the best barber or stylist was.

The event went on until 6:00pm.
