Lane restrictions on Interstate 8 to begin on Monday in Wellton

WELLTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) are advising drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on Interstate 8 (I-8) near Wellton.

ADOT also said that the restrictions will begin on January 23, with contractors repaving the road.

The following restrictions will occur from 7:00am to 7:00pm on Monday through Friday, and will go until February 1.

With this in mind, contractors will reduce I-8 to one lane; the speed limit will be 55 miles per hour.

While delays are likely, drivers should allow extra travel time and obey the reduced speed limit. That and be cautious around construction workers and traffic control devices.
