YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A crash during the early Sunday morning hours resulted in one life-threatening injuring.

In a press release, the crash occurred at approximately 2:33am in the area of Somerton Avenue and County 8th Street.

Once the Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) responded to the scene, they learned that the driver of silver 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control; the vehicle then crashed into an APS pole.

After medical personnel arrived, they got a child out of the vehicle; they then flew the child to a hospital in Phoenix due to life-threatening injuries.

However, three other occupants did not sustain injuries.

While alcohol appeared to factor in the crash, the investigation remains active.

If you have any information on the case, then contact YCSO at (928) 783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous. You can also visit the YCSO website to submit an anonymous tip.
