Yuma contractor found guilty of insurance fraud

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A federal jury found a Yuma Contractor guilty on 15 counts of fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The jury delivered the verdict on Tuesday, December 13.

In detail, the defendant, 40-year-old Isrrael Millan, committed several insurance fraud schemes between 2018 and 2020.

Furthermore, the schemes took place in Yuma, which included staging vehicle accidents and flooding residences on purpose.

Millan would then submit fraudulent claims to insurance companies related to the schemes.

Additionally, the evidence revealed that Millan, working as a contractor, made the claims to collect the proceeds.

Millan's sentencing hearing will start on February 21, 2023.
