PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Today, Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Kyrsten Sinema (both D-AZ) announced a $500,000 award for agricultural workforce training grants for Yuma and La Paz Counties Community College.

“I’ve seen Yuma and La Paz-area community colleges up close and know the important work they do to get students the skills and tools they need to pursue careers in agriculture. These grants will go a long way in creating new jobs and making Arizona’s economy stronger,” stated Sen. Kelly.

The $500,000 grant will go towards economic development projects which was awarded by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture.

“Today’s workplace training grant funding will empower Yuma and La Paz Counties Community College District students with the necessary tools, training, and experience to succeed in technical agricultural jobs,” Sen. Sinema said.
