A tribute to fallen Navy Seal is set for this Saturday

Fuel Fitness Gym is hosting the event in Yuma. Similar events are being held across the globe and online

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Lieutenant Michael Murphy was a decorated Navy Seal having received the country's highest military honors, the Medal of Honor. In 2005, Lieutenant Murphy died in combat in Afghanistan.

But, before paying the ultimate price for the American way of life, Murphy left a legacy in the Crossfit world. Murphy gave fitness enthusiasts a taste of what it takes to be a member of one of the world's most elite fighting forces.

This Memorial Day weekend, athletes and fitness enthusiasts around the world will honor the life of Lieutenant Murphy with a Memorial Day Murph.

The Murph is an intense workout that pushes you to your limits. On Saturday, May 29, 2021, Fuel Fitness will host its Memorial Day Murph.

Fuel Fitness is offering three events. The first will start at 6 a.m. and followed by one at 7:30 a.m. They'll also be doing a half-Murph at 9 a.m.

The cost is just $20 and includes a shirt. Funds from the event will go to help local veteran assistance programs.
