Imperial Valley Equity & Justice Coalition to host Lithium Valley community meetings

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial Valley Equity & Justice Coalition will be holding two community meetings.

The coalition says these meetings will be in regards to the lithium extraction developments occurring in the Imperial Valley.

The topics the coalition will cover the following questions:

  • What is "Lithium Valley?"
  • What kind of investment is it for the community?
  • How will it address the community's needs?
  • How is the extraction being taxed?
  • What concerns does anyone have?

According to the coalition, the first meeting will take place in Westmorland Unified Elementary School District, located at 200 South C Street, on Thursday, December 7 at 6:30pm.

The second meeting will take place at the Calipatria Latin American Club, located at 136 North Sorensen Avenue, on Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30pm.
