Fire at Pioneers Skilled Nursing Center, residents evacuated

BRAWLEY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - According to Juan Rodelo, Deputy Chief of the Brawley Fire Department, 91 residents were evacuated from the Pioneers Skilled Nursing Center facility.

First responders say a fire broke out Sunday afternoon.

It was caused by an electrical problem and was put out quickly.

All residents were transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center, El Centro Post Acute senior living facility and Pioneer Medical Center. 

The reason they are being moved is because there is no electricity in the building.

No injuries have been reported.
