Imperial County Behavioral Health Services receives grant funding for new facility

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial County Behavioral Health Services (ICBHS) announced the awarding of $17,285,302 in grant funding for projects that support behavioral health infrastructure such as mental health and substance use disorder treatment facilities.

The funding will help provide the county with new opportunities to address gaps in care and create sustainable improvements that will serve Imperial County residents.

The grant will fund the construction of a 16-bed Adult Residential Substance Use Disorder Treatment Facility that will provide Withdrawal Management and High Intensity Residential Treatment.

ICBHS said they based the construction of the 16-bed facility on local statistics on how many people are seeking mental health services.

These resources will help provide for the community without them having to get treatment outside of Imperial County.
