Unwanted party turns into a nightmare

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - An unwanted party containing hundreds of people turned into a nightmare for new homeowners in Calexico.

Last Friday, the Calexico Police Department received a call about underage drinking at a party in a vacant home.

The party then shifted to another home later that night to a home recently purchased.

The homeowner said they were starting to move in and left some valuables inside.

When the homeowners arrived the next morning, they discovered beer cans, alcohol bottles, and their valuables missing.

“The value of everything that they stole is more than $10,000. My music equipment was stolen. My wife was really scared because we did not know what had happened, if they were going to come back or what," expressed Agustin Ortiz, Calexico homeowner.

The Calexico Police Department reminds residents to report any suspicious activity, especially in vacant homes.

If you have any information on this case, you are asked to contact the Calexico Police Department.

The case is still under investigation.
