15 children became U.S citizens a day after the Fourth of July

KYMA

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) presented citizenship certificates to 15 children during a special naturalization ceremony just a day after Independence Day.

The event took place at the Imperial Valley Desert Museum in Ocotillo, California.

This special ceremony is held to celebrate children who have gained natural citizenship from immigrants who have derived citizenship through their parents or adoption.

15 of the children ranged from the ages of one to 18 years of age and all come from Mexico.

The USCIS hosts these naturalization ceremonies at museums, schools, and libraries to make the event fun for the children celebrating their citizenship.
