ECPD arrest Heber man for Sunday murder
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro police detectives arrested a Heber man in connection to a murder, according to the El Centro Police Department (ECPD).
In detail, the murder occurred on Sunday, December 18 at approximately 10:30pm near N. 8th Street and Clark Road.
Once ECPD arrived on scene, the officers located a 39-year-old Hispanic man, suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
Officers then performed life-saving procedures until paramedics arrived.
However, the victim succumbed to his injuries as paramedics treated him, and the El Centro Police Bureau of Investigations took over the investigation.
During their tireless investigation, authorities identified the suspect as 30-year-old Roman Ubence of Heber.
Soon after, they arrested Ubence, without incident, at the Coin-O-Matic laundromat on Monday, December 19 at around noon.
ECPD then booked Ubence into the Imperial County Jail, where he faces murder charges.
